Compare & Contrast 'the Soldier' By Rupert Brooke

Comp atomic number 18 & Contrast The Soldier by Rupert Brooke with Disabled by Wilfred Owen The Soldier (Rupert Brooke): written in 1914 at the beginning of the maiden World War. Rupert Brooke had an peachy teaching method and travelled a curing more or less the world. He was very passionate around his country and had a lot of ambition. alas he died of septicemia from a mosquito bite on a ship, he was whence buried on the Greek Island. His metrical composition the soldier was a very positive and optimistic poem about the struggle and his country, England. I think he valued the English macrocosm to feel very ambitious about their country, and and then they would be more willing to repugn for it, it gave them hope. He calls his country her therefore its written in the 3rd soul singular. Disabled (Wilfred Owen): compose in 1917. Wilfred Owen had a good education as well, plainly (un analogous Rupert Brooke) he went to war, and saw what it was it was really like, the awful conditions, the lack of diet and meaningless deaths, Wilfred Owen realised that the war was rimed and cruel, not like masses imagined it. This poem is very negative, and kind of sad, unlike The Soldier it expresses the tor custodyted thoughts and recollections of a teenage soldier in the 1st World War, who has lose his limbs in battle and is right off confined, utterly helpless, to a wheelchair. I think Wilfred wanted hoi polloi to realise that the war was not as glorious and rejoicing as people thought, there were so many men whose lives were thrown onward even if they did physically survive it.. Unfortunately Wilfred Owen died on the quaternary of November 1918, before the end of the war. To conclude, these two poems are different in many ways (attitude, mood, tone, ect..) One was to assist the people to fight for their country and go to war, one was to bring up people see that the war destroyed many mens board lives, it had no mercy. But they both had a lot of mastermind in them, thats one of ! the things they have in common. If you want to swallow a full essay, order it on our website: OrderEssay.net
